Phil Hails-Smith Bio

Phil has been working as a corporate & commercial lawyer at Joelson since 2000 (having trained at Joelson from 1998). He became a partner in 2007. He has extensive experience advising on all types of corporate and commercial transactional matters. Phil has over 20 years of experience in acting on mergers and acquisitions for buyers and sellers alike in many different sectors. He has a wide range of experience working with Founders, entrepreneurs and start-ups and companies looking to grow by acquisition or organically. Phil has, throughout his career, worked with Management teams in PE or VC backed businesses with MBOs, MBIs and supporting their growth through acquisition in a wide range of sectors. He also has an active practice acting for listed clients on the capital markets in relation to IPOs, placings and reverse takeovers. Phil has over 20 years of experience of negotiating commercial contracts on behalf of clients in the UK and those looking to expand internationally.
