Hai Yong graduated from Minzu University of China with a bachelor’s degree in law in 2001 and from Temple University of the United States with an LLM in 2003. Mr. Hai joined Jingtian & Gongcheng in January 2022. Prior to this, he worked at Baker McKenzie LLP Beijing Office for 9 years and Baker McKenzie FenXun for 4 years as a Senior Counsel. Mr. Hai specializes in cross-border transactions with a focus in the real estate and hospitality sector, advising clients on land acquisition, project development, property sale and acquisition, office, retail and industrial leasing, hospitality transactions, and other related matters. In the real estate sector, Mr. Hai represented various foreign investors in direct investment and mergers and acquisitions of all types of real estate projects in China (including residential, industrial, commercial and hotel projects and including share deals and asset deals), providing due diligence, structuring, drafting, negotiation advices and assisting with closing. In the hospitality sector, Mr. Hai represented international hotel operators and domestic owners in dozens of hotel projects. Abundant experience provides Mr. Hai with a unique perspective in solving all kinds of problems in the negotiation and performance of hotel management agreements, enabling him to provide commercially feasible solutions, maximizing the client’s interest while facilitating the closing of the deals.
