Blommaert Dominique joined Janson in 1994 and has been partner at Janson since 1998. He graduated at the KUL with a degree in modern history (1987) and a degree in law (1988). He continued his studies at the ULB and obtained a postgraduate degree in economic law (1989). He has been a scientific collaborator at the Financial Law Institute of the University of Ghent since 1990. Dominique heads the Banking and finance department. He specialises in credit law, including consumer law, mortgage credit and all forms of regulated credit. He is a well-known author in the liability law of credit institutions. He advises his clients on the legal aspects related to the creation of new banking and financial products and assists them in asset management, financial structures (often linked to other guarantees) and the related contractual aspects. His department regularly publishes articles on these topics and many lawyers regularly speak before a specialised audience at scientific conferences. He has a strong track record in litigation. He gained extensive experience in the handling of disputes in banking and finance and has represented various financial institutions. He also has extensive experience in corporate litigation (including insolvency). Dominique also acts in arbitration proceedings (as a lawyer or arbitrator).
