Alter Cédric graduated in law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1995 (magna cum laude). He joined Janson as a partner in September 2007 and co-leads the firm's Insolvency law team. Previously, he was Special European Counsel at Wilkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in Brussels, as well as associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Stibbe. Cédric has gained significant experience in insolvency law, business law and contract law working for both Belgian and foreign clients. He also regularly acts in judicial and arbitration proceedings (as counsel or arbitrator), and is a member of the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEPANI and CCI). Cédric is professor at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management at the ULB for the Business Law course. From 1998 to 2012, he was assistant at the Faculty of Law of the ULB for the courses of law of obligations and contract law. He is also co-president of the CAP Network, which brings together insolvency professionals, and secretary of the Insolvency section of the International Bar Association. He is the author or co-author of numerous publications and conferences in insolvency law, contract law, banking law and corporate law. In particular, he is co-author of "Insolvabilité des entreprises" published by Larcier in 2019, author of "Droit bancaire général" and co-author with Alain Zenner of "La loi sur la continuité des entreprises revisitée par la loi du 27 mai 2013", Larcier, Dossier du JT, 2014.
