Bio

Gil A. Abramson is a Principal in the Baltimore, Maryland, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He is the Labor Practice Group Coordinator for that office. Mr. Abramson concentrates his practice on the representation of management in all phases of labor law and equal employment law, including union avoidance, collective bargaining, grievances and arbitration, restrictive covenants, wrongful discharge and equal employment opportunity matters, as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the National Labor Relations Act, and the Railway Labor Act. Mr. Abramson regularly advises clients regarding employment policies, workplace harassment and training programs, workplace safety laws and regulations, union avoidance, collective bargaining, and executive employment and termination agreements. He also litigates labor and employment law issues before the courts and administrative agencies, including equal employment litigation, protection of intellectual property and trade secrets, enforcement of restrictive covenants, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, and injunctions against strikes and picketing. Mr. Abramson regularly handles labor arbitrations and practices extensively before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in connection with union organizing and unfair labor practices. He has litigated successfully both bench and jury trials, appeals, arbitrations and administrative hearings. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Abramson was a labor and employment partner in a global general practice law firm. He was also senior counsel to the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board. He has been a speaker at conferences and symposiums on a wide range of labor and employment law issues, and he serves as a Chapter Editor for The Developing Labor Law, a publication of BNA.
