Bio

Andrew C. Pickett is a Principal in the Boston, Massachusetts, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice concentrates exclusively in employment litigation and counseling on behalf of management. Mr. Pickett advises clients regularly on employment law issues, including allegations of unlawful discrimination, reductions in force, FMLA leave, the Americans with Disabilities Act, non-competition agreements, and litigation under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. He has substantial trial experience, and appears frequently in state and federal courts in employment-related litigation, including defending clients against the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in “pattern and practice” class action discrimination litigation. He also defends employers in administrative proceedings at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, and other state human rights agencies. Mr. Pickett lectures frequently on employment law and related issues. Mr. Pickett served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office in 1990 and 1991 and also served as law clerk to the Honorable Albert W. Coffrin, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Vermont, during 1986 and 1987. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Pickett was with the prominent Boston-based firm Ropes & Gray. While at Cornell Law School, he was Chancellor of the Cornell Moot Court Board and was a semi-finalist in the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition.
