Stephen Edwards Bio

Stephen B. Edwards is a partner in the firm’s Business Group. Steve concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers & acquisitions and alternative investments. Steve has represented a wide range of clients in a variety of M&A transactions, with a particular focus on the representation of private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He has drafted and negotiated complex transactional documents for both stock and asset acquisitions, as well as agreements of merger, along with the various ancillary documents necessary in any given deal. He has represented our clients in a number of different industries, including veterinary supplies, community banking, nutritional supplements, and pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Steve focuses his alternative investments practice on the representation of family office, college and university endowment and other institutional limited partner investor clients in a wide range of alternative investments, including buyout funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, real estate funds and REITs, funds of funds and direct co-investments. He interacts directly with fund counsel and advocates on behalf of our limited partner clients to ensure that our clients’ needs are appropriately addressed in the documentation of these investments. He graduated from Bowdoin College, summa cum laude, in 2000 and from The Ohio State University College of Law, cum laude, in 2008.
