Patrick Hurley is a Senior Director in the firm's Litigation Group. Pat's practice involves the representation of individuals and businesses in a variety of contexts, including divorce, child custody, premarital agreements, and general civil litigation. In addition to his substantial trial experience, Pat is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution, having successfully represented clients in numerous mediation and arbitration hearings. Since 2010, Pat has received the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell "AV Preeminent" peer review rating, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, and has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer in the area of family law each year since 2013. Pat has also been a leader in the DuPage County Bar Association, a professional association of approximately 2,800 members, where he has served on the Board of Directors, has chaired various committees, and served as its President in 2013-14. Additionally, Pat has served as President of the Robert E. Jones Chapter of the American Inns of Court, an organization of judges and lawyers based on the English Inns of Court system, designed to improve the skills, professionalism, and ethics of the bench and bar. Prior to joining Huck Bouma in 2000, Pat engaged in the general practice of law in the Boston, Massachusetts area, representing clients in such matters as divorce, personal injury, general civil litigation, criminal defense, and appellate practice. Pat received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College in 1990, with dual majors in Political Science and Philosophy. He graduated from Boston College Law School in 1993, receiving his Juris Doctor degree. During law school, Pat was a student attorney with the Boston College Legal Assistance Bureau and clerked during the summers in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts.
