Bio

Wouter Jongen is an English and Netherlands law qualified finance lawyer focusing on LBO financings and restructurings. During his career, he has spent several years in London. Wouter has recently acted as lenders' counsel on the public bid financings supporting the acquisitions of (i) GrandVision by EssilorLuxottica (which was the largest deal in the Benelux in 2019); (ii) Royal Volker Wessels by Reggeborgh and (iii) PGS Software by a portfolio company of Waterland. Wouter advises on the financings for international private equity sponsors (such as Aquiline, BC Partners, Apax, IK Invest, Providence, Ardian, Montagu, Vitruvian and Three Hills) and for all major Dutch PE funds (Egeria, Parcom, Waterland, Gilde, Mentha). Having advised on the very first and the largest direct lending transaction in the Benelux (as well as numerous deals in between), Wouter is at the forefront of the unitranche market acting for the likes of Ares, Blackrock, ICG, Pemberton, Tikehau, Permira, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and others. On the real estate financing side, Wouter assists HSBC and others in various matters. Prior to joining Hogan Lovells as a partner in October 2014, Wouter was a senior associate at a multinational law firm (London and Amsterdam).
