Bio

Sharron Ash is Chief Litigation Counsel at the Hamburger Law Firm and is involved with all aspects of the firm’s employment transition, commercial litigation and other dispute resolution matters. Sharron is primarily engaged in employment counseling to financial advisers interested in opening their own independent firms or transitioning between firms as well as the related disputes and negotiations that sometimes accompany such career moves. She has significant experience with defending restrictive covenants common to the securities industry and the temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions that are used to enforce them. Employing her well established negotiating experience to avoid litigation where possible, but ready to litigate when necessary, Sharron has practiced extensively in state and federal courts across the country. She is well-versed in all phases of trial, arbitration and mediation proceedings, and has successfully represented the firm’s securities industry clients in formal and informal regulatory and law enforcement inquiries and disciplinary proceedings, including those before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) as well as various state securities regulators. Prior to joining the firm, she prosecuted commercial class actions at the boutique law firm of Landy & Seymour (formerly Brown & Seymour) founded by senior partners from two of the country’s most prestigious law firms, including a former U.S. Attorney. As part of this cohesive team of litigators, Sharron successfully litigated groundbreaking commercial class actions, developing novel theories of liability against some of the country’s largest health care insurers, recovering millions of dollars in unpaid health care claims, and effecting change in the developing life cycle of managed health care in the United States market. Since achieving equity ownership in that practice, Sharron lent her skills on an Of Counsel basis, serving the litigation and strategic planning needs of individuals and business owners based in the United States and Europe. With twenty years’ experience, Sharron is able to offer clients valuable practical advice to avoid legal proceedings where possible, or to employ litigation based strategies for the best possible outcome. Sharron resides in northern New Jersey with her husband and three children.
