Since the beginning of his career, Dr Robert Theissen has specialised in private construction and architectural law and has extensive knowledge and experience in this and related areas of law. His advice begins with the conception of complex construction projects (in particular building construction, civil engineering and infrastructure projects) and the selection of the appropriate contract model. In addition to classic solutions, he has extensive knowledge and experience of cooperative contract models; for example, he drafted and negotiated the multi-party contract for Amprion GmbH A-Nord, currently the largest IPA project in Germany. He also drafted and negotiated contracts in the progressive partnership model for major infrastructure projects (for more details, see Rhine-Main Link and Corridor B). He also specialises in providing legal advice during construction and in the management of supplements. The focus is always on disruptions to the construction process and the assertion or defence of construction time claims. Dr Theissen also acts as counsel, arbitrator and adjudicator in national and international arbitration proceedings under construction law.
