Sean Myers-Payne joined the firm as a technical advisor in 1996 after performing research in a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and obtaining his Ph.D. in pharmacology in 1995. He attended George Mason University for law school while working at G&B and later at Finnegan Henderson, where he worked as an associate after law school. Sean expanded his legal skills at a general practice firm in Columbus, Ohio before returning to G&B in 2006. Sean built on his foundation in pharmacology to form a niche practice in counseling pharmaceutical companies on IP protection for their new drugs and drug products. He has extensive experience in pre-drafting counseling, application drafting and prosecution, and strategic patent family management. Sean is a managing equity partner at G&B and in that role, he manages the prosecution practice firm-wide. Within the prosecution group, he broadly oversees all of the chemical patent prosecution work at the firm.
