Thomas J. Hayes is a partner in the Chicago office of Gordon & Rees and a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He concentrates his practice in handling a wide variety of complex civil litigation matters for both individuals and business entities of all sizes ranging from Fortune 100 Companies to family-owned businesses. Over the course of his career, Mr. Hayes has litigated numerous cases involving shareholder disputes, business torts, real estate litigation, probate and estate litigation, product liability, breach of contract, construction disputes, and injunctions. Additionally, he routinely defends nationwide and state class claims arising under consumer protection statutes, including, the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act), FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act), and FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act). Mr. Hayes has represented clients in many different jurisdictions including courts located in Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, Florida, California, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Louisiana. Mr. Hayes has tried over 10 cases to verdict and has participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations. He has been recognized by Chicago Magazine and Illinois Super Lawyer Magazine as a “Rising Star”. Rising Stars are lawyers under the age of 40 who have been in practice for 10 years or less, and it is a distinction given to approximately 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.
