Scott W. McCaskill is a Partner at Gordon & Rees and a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, contracts, real estate matters and defense of professional liability and tort claims, as well as consumer class actions. He also routinely represents directors and officers in direct actions for alleged breaches of fiduciary duties and related claims. Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Mr. McCaskill was an associate at a boutique business litigation firm in North San Diego County. Prior to working in California, Mr. McCaskill worked on first-party property claims and as a Public Defender in Florida. Mr. McCaskill is an experienced civil litigator and has tried multiple civil and criminal cases to verdict over the years. In addition to his substantial trial practice, Mr. McCaskill has extensive experience negotiating settlements at meditation and during litigation. Mr. McCaskill has the knowledge and experience to aggressively litigate every case, no matter how large or small. Mr. McCaskill received his Juris Doctorate from the Florida Coastal School of Law. During law school, Mr. McCaskill competed across the country as a member of his school’s top-ranked Moot Court Honor Board before graduating cum laude. Mr. McCaskill also had the honor of interning at the First District Court of Appeal.
