Partner in our Harrisburg, Pennsylvania office, Maggie Finkelstein DiCostanzo specializes in representing hospitals, post-acute care facilities, physicians, and other healthcare providers in professional liability matters, general liability matters, health law, liability risk mitigation, intellectual property matters, and corporate contracting. Ms. Finkelstein was a federal clerk for the Honorable William W. Caldwell in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania (2000-2002). She is also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She has done significant research and writing in the area of post-adverse event communication, contributing to Pennsylvania’s Benevolent Gesture Medical Professional Liability Act, obstetrical-provider liability, and bariatric surgery liability. In addition to having published dozens of articles, several books and book chapters, she has also presented at regional and national conferences for such organizations as the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, American College of Surgeons, Pennsylvania Health Care Association, Press Ganey, ACI's Obstetric Malpractice Claims Conference (Philadelphia), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Central Pa. Chapter. Most recently she is serving as an instructor for post-acute care certification courses at The Pennsylvania State University (York, PA).
