Kara Persson is a partner and member of the Environmental practice group, working primarily out of the firm's Southern California offices. She represents clients facing environmental litigation and administrative actions addressing compliance with CERCLA, the Clean Water Act, and other claims of alleged soil, groundwater, and water body contamination. She also defends corporate clients facing significant potential damages in multi-party actions involving alleged products liability and toxic tort claims. Ms. Persson is a co-chair of the firm's Pro Bono Committee and has been commended by the Louisiana Supreme Court as well as local non-profit organizations for her donation of pro bono legal services. Ms. Persson has served as a law clerk to two federal judges: Chief District Judge Barry Ted Moskowitz and Senior District Judge Rudi M. Brewster of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Ms. Persson has also served as a Federal Public Defender in the Southern District of California. In her youth, Ms. Persson was a national level competitive figure skater.
