Bio

Josh Dixon’s practice is focused on all types of civil litigation in federal and state courts. He is a general litigator, and he has particular experience in employment law, intellectual property, insurance coverage, ERISA, class actions, products liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Dixon also handles appeals. Mr. Dixon has litigated numerous types of employment-related claims, including claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and Family and Medical Leave Act, claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (wage and hour violations), and all manner of state law employment-related claims, including claims involving wrongful termination, defamation, and breach of non-compete, non-solicit, and confidentiality agreements. Mr. Dixon also has significant experience litigating intellectual property claims, including allegations of trade secret, trademark and copyright violations, insurance claims involving allegations of breach of the duty to defend and/or indemnify, and claims involving the denial of insurance benefits and breaches of fiduciary duty (ERISA). Mr. Dixon has also litigated tort and product liability matters, including wrongful death, catastrophic injury and disability and debilitating injuries. Mr. Dixon’s business and commercial litigation practice includes advising clients and litigating matters involving shareholder disputes, breach of contract, partnership and corporate dissolutions, and indemnity and insurance disputes. Mr. Dixon also has done substantial work defending class actions. Before entering private practice, Mr. Dixon was a law clerk for Karen J. Williams of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and C. Weston Houck of the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
