Ernest Isola is the co-chair of Gordon & Rees’ National Construction Practice Group and the Group Leader for the Construction Practice Group in the San Francisco office. He has been with Gordon & Rees since 1997, and is a partner in both the Construction and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Mr. Isola’s practice has focused on complex construction litigation, environmental litigation, and transactional matters. Over his career spanning over 20 years, Mr. Isola has represented owners, developers, contractors, architects, engineers, geologists, design professionals, construction managers, and product manufacturers in every type of construction claim, including claims for project delay, loss of productivity, inefficiency, acceleration, compensation and payment claims, cost overruns, change orders, design/construction deficiencies, design professional copyright claims, differing site conditions, and worksite injuries. Mr. Isola also has significant experience representing environmental consultants and contractors in matters involving environmental contamination, Phase I and II environmental assessments, landfill closure, and breach of contract disputes. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Isola specializes in transactional work for his construction and environmental clients, including formulating and negotiating contracts utilizing myriad project deliveries, including traditional design/bid/build, design/build, public private partnership, CM at risk, and integrated project delivery. Mr. Isola has also advised his clients on administering ongoing construction projects, claim avoidance, and other transactional matters. Mr. Isola’s work in the Commercial Litigation practice group has included representing businesses in breach of contract disputes, class action lawsuits, eminent domain actions, claims for unfair business practices, litigation involving corporate officers and directors, wildfire claims and other business litigation matters. Mr. Isola is also a member of Gordon & Rees’ Retail and Hospitality practice group.
