Bio

Dan Evans is a partner in the Denver office of Gordon & Rees, practicing in the Construction and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups. Mr. Evans is an experienced litigator and trial attorney with more than 20 years of successfully representing general contractors, design professionals, owners, developers, subcontractors, and suppliers in construction disputes. Mr. Evans has extensive experience handling construction defect, architect and engineer errors and omissions in design, delay/impact, acceleration, inefficiency, cost overrun, Miller Act, and warranty disputes. He has litigated claims involving the design and construction of hospitals, restaurants, apartment complexes, public spaces, solids-handling facilities, federal construction projects, and multi-family residential communities. Mr. Evans also has significant experience litigating business disputes unrelated to construction. He has also defended multiple bodily injury lawsuits involving product liability, motor vehicle accident and other injuries. Mr. Evans has also represented companies against claims of environmental contamination. Mr. Evans obtained a favorable defense award from a panel of the ICC International Court of Arbitration for alleged errors and omissions of an engineering firm. He secured and collected a judgment for a restaurant owner for defective and delayed performance by a general contractor. He also successfully resolved multi-million-dollar-claims involving alleged defects in architect and engineer design, construction sequencing and scheduling, soil compaction, concrete formation, and pipe installation on a public project. Mr. Evans has successfully tried cases in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the ICC International Court of Arbitration. He also regularly helps clients develop and implement project closeout and dispute resolution strategies prior to the initiation of litigation.
