Bio

Inigo Igartua Arregui is a partner, head of Competition and European Union Law at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo. He specialises in Competition Law, damages claims, distribution, e-commerce, Administrative Law and European and Spanish litigation. He holds a law degree from the Universidad del País Vasco. He obtained a Master’s Degree (Licence Spéciale) in European Law (Plus Grande Distinction) from the Institute of European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Íñigo is a member of different international and Spanish associations specialized in Competition Law such as: International Bar Association (where he was President of the Antitrust Law Section), American Bar Association, Ligue Internationale du Droit de la Concurrence Association Européene d’Études Juridiques et Fiscales, Asociación Española de Defensa de la Competencia, among others. Íñigo is recognised in prestigious legal directories such as Chambers & Partners and Legal500 as one of the leading professionals in the areas of Competition / European Law and Corporate / M&A. Likewise, the publication International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers has recognised him in the Competition area. He is a professor of Competition Law at different academic institutions such as the Universidad Carlos III, the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, the Instituto Superior de Economía y Derecho (ISDE), the Universitat CEU Abat Oliba, the Ilustre Col-legi d’Advocats de Barcelona (ICAb) and in the Academy of European Law (ERA). He is also a speaker at various European and Spanish competition law forums. He is the author of numerous publications in the field of European and Spanish Competition Law: doctrinal articles, chapters of collective works, jurisprudential reviews, newsletters, etc.
