Partner David Boitout specialises in mergers, joint ventures and cross-border acquisitions with a particular focus on transactions in and from growth markets. He is the partner in charge of Gide’s practice in Asia, and shares his time between Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. With over 15 years' experience including 10 years as partner in charge of Gide's Shanghai office, David has extensive experience advising leading European companies in their cross-border acquisitions and foreign operations in Greater China and more generally in the complex and uncertain legal environment of emerging economies. He also advises major players from growth markets investing in Europe, in particular Chinese clients. David is ranked as a leading individual by Chambers Global for its in-depth skill in China-related matters.
