As a partner at Gesmer, Sarah Richmond brings a wealth of experience to the table, specializing in sophisticated corporate and transactional legal services for both emerging growth and established companies. Sarah expertly leads complex mergers and acquisition transactions, critical venture capital and angel financings, and transformative joint ventures. She also skillfully guides her clients on day-to-day corporate and contract matters, structuring shareholder and equity compensation arrangements, advising on business organization and corporate governance issues, and negotiating software licensing, development and other company agreements. Sarah strives to empower clients to navigate complex legal landscapes and confidently make informed business decisions. Her multifaceted approach ensures clients can focus on their growth while relying on her strategic guidance. As a member of Gesmer’s Executive Committee, Sarah plays a vital role in managing the firm. Before joining Gesmer, she was associated with Hale and Dorr (now WilmerHale) in Boston, where she specialized in corporate transactions and securities work for public and private companies. Additionally, Sarah practiced law in Tokyo with Tomotsune, Kimura & Mitomi, a Japanese international finance law firm, where she represented clients in international joint ventures and advised Japanese companies on U.S. corporate law.
