Bio

Lori Mark has provided counsel on all manner of secured loan transactions to both borrowers and lenders including banks and trust and insurance companies and involving a wide variety of collateral including real estate, intellectual property, computer equipment, motor vehicles and aircraft. She has acted on green energy projects and cross-border financings as well as for suppliers and financiers of goods and equipment and invoice factors. When disputes arise, she acts on workouts, restructuring, collections, loan enforcement, priority issues, security review and realization and proceedings under the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act as well as on receiverships and bankruptcies. She advises on all aspects of personal property security enforcement and mortgage enforcement including powers of sale and foreclosures. Lori has participated extensively in a wide variety of real estate-based transactions and matters including acquisitions, sales, mortgage financings, commercial leasing, easements and condominium organization. She has acted for conservation authorities, land trusts, donors and others in respect of conservation easements and land donations. She has also been actively involved in the acquisition, sale and financing of businesses. Lori has represented municipal and other clients in procurement matters in relation to information technology, construction, building services, professional services and goods and materials, and has assisted clients in preparation of standard procurement documentation. In addition, she has a developing art law practice involving traditional legal services and art-specific matters including consignment, sale, licensing, rental, commission and exhibition.
