Mario Valencia is a responsible and persistent practice leader and International Trade expert who believes in the benefits and opportunities presented by global trade with a focus on social responsibility. Because of his expertise, when clients seek out Mario’s expertise in international trade and customs, they not only find a lawyer but a business partner. Someone who is ready to go the extra mile to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients. He has been passionate about the law ever since he started law school, and he injects that passion into every project he gets involved in. In his years of practice, he has specialized in the energy (mainly renewable energy projects), mining, automotive, electronics, aerospace, food and beverage, and consumer goods sectors, in which he has been recognized by clients and peers as a leading lawyer offering sophisticated and innovative solutions. He developed, by way of example, the first strategy to import solar panels under preferential programs. Mario actively participates in Pro Bono projects of the Firm, helping start-up clients; NGO’s and private clients establish their businesses and creating a safe operation and legal environment. Likewise, he is committed to the progress and improvement of the Firm’s younger lawyers who are the present and will become the future of our firm. He is recognized as Band 4 in the 2023 Chambers Latin American Guide in the International Trade/WTO practice. He is also considered by Latin Lawyer and in The Legal 500 2023 Latin American Guide as an expert lawyer in the Customs and International Trade practice.
