Rajeev Sharma Fokeer was admitted to the English Bar as a Barrister in 2002 and was later admitted as Avocat à la Cour to the Paris Bar in 2005. He was also admitted to the Bar of Mauritius, his native country, in 2008. Rajeev’s work is essentially international in nature, involving a wide range of complex cross-border commercial matters. He has focused his work in the past years on international dispute resolution generally and is specialized in all aspects of international commercial arbitration. He acts regularly in a number of institutional arbitration cases as Counsel in industrial and commercial disputes alike. A partner at FTPA since 2010, he is co-managing partner in the firm’s London office, in charge of the international arbitration offering of the firm. Rajeev holds an honours degree in English law (King’s College, London) and a maîtrise degree in French Law (Université de Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne). He also obtained a French master’s degree in Litigation, Arbitration & ADR (Université de Paris II Panthéon Assas). Besides English and French, Rajeev is fluent in hindi and Mauritian creole. He is a member of the Association Française d’Arbitrage and a meber of the Advisory Board of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the International Chambre of Commerce of Mauritius (MARC).
