Abraham Lincoln famously said that if he had six hours to chop down a tree, he’d spend the first four sharpening the axe. Raul applies the same rigorous preparation to his legal practice. Analyzing every transaction from all probable—and often improbable—angles enables him to represent his clients’ interests more effectively. Whether representing a Fortune 100 client, school district, municipality, bank, developer or small business owner, Raul works thoughtfully and strategically to present his clients with all available options and collaborates with them to achieve their goals. Raul’s practice encompasses practically every aspect of commercial real estate, including development, entitlements, leasing, financing, acquisitions, and dispositions. He also serves as general counsel to certain clients, managing all legal facets of their businesses and delivering business-minded advice. Before joining Foster Graham, Raul routinely served as lead real estate counsel for clients around the country. He negotiated and closed a multimillion-dollar credit facility transaction for a client. He also completed numerous multimillion-dollar real estate deals, including representing clients in the acquisition of a $400 million 26-property portfolio of shopping centers in Massachusetts and a 13-property portfolio of restaurant leases in California and Michigan. Raul is admitted to practice in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and Illinois. Raul enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and traveling. On the weekends, he can be found hanging out with family/friends and cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos.
