Joe Hayashi Bio

Joe Hayashi is a Partner and currently co-chairs the Corporate and M&A department of Fortis LLP. Mr. Hayashi’s practice focuses on outsourced general and corporate counsel services, with an emphasis on venture and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, sales and divestitures, recapitalizations, structured reorganizations, corporate governance and strategic business counseling, licensing and commercial agreements, and closely-held businesses, including partnerships, sole proprietorships and limited liability companies. Mr. Hayashi has represented a wide variety of companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in various industries including technology, life sciences, action sports, ecommerce, entertainment and consumer goods, with a focus on apparel, footwear, food and cosmetics. Prior to joining Fortis LLP, Mr. Hayashi had practiced law in the Irvine offices of Dorsey & Whitney LLP, the Palo Alto offices of Brobeck Phleger & Harrison LLP and the Southern California office of Fortis General Counsel, LLP, representing venture capital firms and investment banks that fund emerging companies and acting as outside general counsel to companies at all stages of development.
