Earl has represented buyers and sellers in numerous mergers and acquisitions, involving both public and private companies across many industries and including cross-border acquisitions, development of overseas joint ventures and organization of international operations. Earl has advised numerous companies structured as pass-through entities for tax purposes regarding a wide range of activities, including companies operating as commercial businesses and funds engaging in formation, operations, and investment activity. His tax knowledge is complemented by his deep interest in his client’s industries. He is heavily involved in the firm’s focus on the technology, life sciences, and energy and cleantech industries. Earl takes an active role in the leadership at Foley Hoag, including having served as a Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Department.
