I specialise in international arbitration as well as corporate law with focus on cross-border M&A transactions. I frequently act as lead counsel in international commercial arbitration under the arbitration rules of ICC, VIAC and CIETAC and also represent clients in investor-state arbitration proceedings. I have obtained more than 12-years’ experience in accompanying listed foreign multinational corporations in entering the European market either by a M&A transaction or with the set-up of joint venture structures. My clients include business players in the automotive sector as well as in the sectors of Energy and Natural Resources. Besides having a track record in advising on matters relating to inbound foreign direct investment, I assist clients on cross-border enforcement issues. Further, I have been acting as independent arbitrator in arbitration proceedings under the ICC and the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules and am listed, among others, with VIAC, HKIAC as Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (FHKIArb) and with the Panel of Arbitrators of the X'ian Arbitration Commission (XAAC). I currently act as Chair of the European Chinese Arbitrators Association. I also act as an independent consultant to the Swiss litigation finance provider, Nivalion AG related to the Asian Pacific market. As a dual-admitted attorney with the Austrian Bar Association as well as with the Munich Bar Association. I obtained my ph.D. (Dr.) in Austrian corporate law with the University of Vienna and speak besides English and German, basic Mandarin Chinese and fluent Cantonese Chinese.
