Jamie Forrest Raney is a Martindale-Hubbell AV who has been practicing law since 1980 and has been a family lawyer throughout her career. She joined the Firm in 1980, and became a partner in 1984. Jamie concentrates on complex marital dissolution matters, particularly those involving business and tax issues. Her practice includes representation in adversarial proceedings, and she serves as an expert witness in family law matters, an arbitrator, a judge pro tem, and a settlement master. Jamie lectures and writes on family law and family law taxation issues for Continuing Education of the Bar, the California Society of CPAs and various legal groups. Jamie received her Bachelor of Arts Degree suma cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1974, and received her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1979. Jamie is a Past-President of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association and a Founding Director of the Santa Barbara County Women Lawyers. For many years, Jamie acted as the Chair of the Family Law Section of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association. She also served on the State Bar of California Family Law Committee, as well as on various sections of the local bar association.
