Ally Bharmal is a corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate/commercial Partner based in the Vancouver office. He provides advice for a variety of private companies, with an emphasis on the technology sector and the food, beverage and agri-tech sector. Ally is a leading lawyer in the area of corporate finance for technology and food and beverage companies, having acted on over one hundred venture capital or similar financing transactions with aggregate proceeds of over $600 million. His growing practice focuses on corporate and commercial business advice for a variety of clients, with an emphasis on the emerging technology and food, beverage and agri-tech sectors. Ally principally represents private companies on a wide range of transactions, including start-up and incorporation issues, shareholders' agreements, financing transactions (including debt and equity angel and venture capital), mergers and acquisitions, strategic transactions, and advice with respect to ongoing business matters. He has extensive experience with respect to Board governance, and often serves as corporate secretary for clients. He also advises on commercial needs with respect to operational matters. From a technology perspective this includes licensing transactions, services, development and outsourcing agreements, confidentiality agreements, collaboration agreements, promotional contests, and website terms and conditions. From a food, beverage and agri-tech perspective, this includes co-packer agreements, distribution agreements and ingredient supply agreements. He also has extensive experience in M&A transactions. Ally is actively involved in the sectors in which he practices, and he understands the industries in which clients operate. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ally completed his Computing Science degree and worked for various technology companies, including TELUS. He takes an active role in the food and beverage industry, including serving as a Director of the BC Food Processors Association.
