Matthew Rork is a savvy litigator who resolves complex disputes ranging from construction and real estate matters to bankruptcy and commercial litigation. An experienced trial attorney, he handles matters across a range of industries for both small and large companies. He also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee. For most of his career, Matt has concentrated his litigation practice in the areas of construction and real estate law throughout the Rocky Mountain region. In that role, he represents home builders, general contractors, engineers, developers, and landowners in contract disputes, mechanic’s lien issues, and construction defect litigation. His experience includes counseling large multinational construction companies in public works and private disputes including issues with subway tunneling construction, hotel and office complex construction, marina anchorage construction, and residential construction. He also handles matters related to mixed-use development, power plants, waste-water management facilities, micro-tunneling, pipeline construction, and residential developments. Matt also maintains a significant real estate transactional practice focusing on real estate development contracts, purchase and sale agreements, and construction contracts. In addition to his construction and real estate work, Matt represents clients in bankruptcy proceedings and other business-related disputes. He regularly works with creditors, landlords, and business debtors, in business reorganization and liquidation matters before the bankruptcy court. He also represents receivers in state court receivership proceedings. He takes a pragmatic approach to commercial disputes, and regularly counsels clients on constructive ways to avoid escalating a matter.
