E.D. Gaskins worked at the local bank growing up where he gained insight into the working of the community as well as finance. While at Wake Forest, Ed became an award winning collegiate debater. That led to his interest in the law, particularly trial practice. Ed wed his wife, Ann, more than 50 years ago. They have two daughters and six grandchildren. Ed is an active Baptist lay person who has been a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years. He strives to put his beliefs into practice not only in his personal life but in his professional life as well. These beliefs are reflected in the Firm’s principles which Ed played a large part in articulating. Although he enjoys trial work immensely, Ed’s greatest satisfaction comes from helping his clients resolve their issues without resorting to litigation. In that capacity, Ed has proved to be an effective counselor. Ed has emphasized work-life balance in his own life and in the lives of all those involved with the Firm. Ed and Ann enjoy spending time at their beach home where they frequently entertain family and friends.
