Bio

Alison Pengelley brings a wealth of work, academic and life experience to the practice of family law. Alison’s practice focuses on resolving family law disputes skillfully using a variety of dispute resolution tools including litigation, negotiation, mediation and arbitration. Alison has a track record of successful outcomes at several levels of Ontario Courts and is a strong advocate (including trial advocacy) for her clients. Prior to obtaining her Doctorate of Jurisprudence at Osgoode Hall Law School, Alison pursued a Business Management Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting). Ms. Pengelley is a frequent speaker on the topics of property, support, and related tax matters. Having herself experienced a separation and divorce, Alison is poignantly aware that a lawyer’s skillful use of the law can provide the necessary power and protection for her/his client. Alison is also aware that the needs/interests of clients dealing with the separation process are multi-dimensional and complex thus requiring from the outset a careful analysis to help clients choose the right dispute resolution tool. Ms. Pengelley practiced law for many years with a prominent Barrie family law firm before moving her practice to a litigation boutique firm downtown Toronto. In 2021 Alison joined Epstein & Associates as a Partner and Head of the Simcoe County (Barrie office) Family Law Practice Group. Ms. Pengelley is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, as well as the Canadian/Ontario Bar Associations, Simcoe County Family Law Association, York Region Law Association, Toronto Law Association, Women’s Law Association of Ontario, and The Advocates’ Society. She is available for free initial consultations.
