Sanchita Rungta is an Associate Partner at Economic Laws Practice. Sanchita has served with ELP since 2011 and has been actively involved in providing advisory and litigation services to various clients across sectors, including banking and financial services, manufacturing, electronics, and pharmaceuticals, amongst others. Sanchita has advised several domestic and international clients in structuring transactions from a tax efficiency perspective, providing legal opinion on interpretational issues, reviewing contracts and undertaking tax optimization and due diligence exercises. She has also assisted clients with strategic inputs and end to end support during audit and investigation proceedings. On the litigation front, Sanchita regularly represents clients before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums as well as in assessment proceedings. She has been part of various advocacy related initiatives, in relation to tax and other regulatory aspects, before Government authorities, including the Ministry of Finance, DGEP, DGFT, Sales tax /VAT authorities, and the Legal Metrology Department. In addition to indirect tax and customs, Sanchita has been involved in a wide range of trade related advisory work including export control regulations, Hazardous Wastes and E-wastes regulations and BIS regulations. A qualified lawyer, Sanchita holds a BBA, LL.B degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune.
