Peter Winkler Bio

Dr. Peter EJ Winkler, LL.M. (Harvard), is a co-founder of our Vienna office, a member of our Management Board, and co-head of the Corporate + M&A, Banking + Finance, and Capital Markets Practice Groups. He frequently advises on the most significant M&A and financing transactions in the Austrian market. His practice also focuses on contentious proceedings involving corporate law issues and comprehensive advice in crisis situations and compliance incidents. He began his professional career at the international management consultancy McKinsey & Co. Inc. As a lawyer, he worked for Freshfields and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Peter Winkler graduated summa cum laude from the University of Innsbruck's Faculty of Law and received his doctorate in law. He also studied at the Université de Paris XII and Harvard Law School, where he received his Master of Law (LL.M.) in 1998. He is admitted to the bar in Austria and New York.
