Bio

Peter Winkler is a partner and head of our corporate and M&A practice group, as well as the banking & finance practice group. He focuses on large-scale M&A, capital markets, and banking transactions. Peter started his professional career as a business consultant with McKinsey & Co. Inc. in Frankfurt. Before joining E+H as a partner, he worked for many years at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (in Vienna and in London), and for the renowned Wall Street law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York and London. Peter holds law degrees from the University of Innsbruck (Mag iur, Dr iur; both summa cum laude) and from Harvard Law School (LLM 1998). He is also admitted to practice in the State of New York. He speaks German, English and French.
