Bio

Josef Schmidt is a partner in our Vienna office and a member of our banking & finance and corporate and M&A practice groups. He specializes in capital markets transactions, M&A, and restructuring. Before he went to London to work as a lawyer for the prestigious Wall Street law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Josef had already spent several years as an associate at E+H. He eventually rejoined our firm in September of 2017 as a partner. Josef Schmidt holds a law degree (Mag iur) as well as a degree in business administration (Mag. Rer. Soc. Oec.), graduating at the top of his class both at the University of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business. In the course of his business administration studies he spent a semester at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, he obtained an LLM from Harvard Law School in 2015. Josef is admitted in Austria and in New York. He speaks German and English.
