and access,
For over 25 years, Kelly Dwyer has been a trusted advisor to businesses and individuals across a variety of industries -- providing guidance to founders, executives and investors throughout the lifecycle of a privately held business, from inception to liquidity. Beyond offering technical legal expertise and analysis borne of careful thought and first-hand experience, Kelly’s true gift is in his deep and genuine understanding of his clients’ priorities and his ability to navigate complex legal frameworks and interpersonal dynamics (aka “the people issues”) in a way that best serves those clients and their business objectives. Kelly takes great pride in his role as a counselor – helping some of the most talented business professionals in Central Texas to make sharper and more confident decisions, often in the context of a deal or an opportunity that is outside the client’s own expertise and comfort zone. In addition to his client practice, Kelly greatly enjoys mentoring junior attorneys and ensuring that DMC maintains its reputation for stellar, dedicated and principled client service. Kelly began his legal career as a corporate finance and M&A associate with Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., where he received the training and mentorship that allowed him to strike out on his own. Kelly maintained a solo transactional law practice from September 2002 through December 2005 before founding DMC with Billy Murphy in January 2006. Kelly is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
