Jason Sutherland practices corporate and securities law with a primary focus on mergers and acquisitions, complex commercial arrangements, including joint ventures, corporate finance and corporate law. Jason has extensive experience advising boards of directors and special committees on mergers and acquisitions (hostile and negotiated), corporate governance and shareholder activism. As a senior partner, Jason focuses on providing strategic advice on complex, high-impact transactions. Jason advises entrepreneurs and start-ups to senior private and public companies who are successful in a range of industries, including mining, energy, technology, life sciences, food and beverage. Jason assists Bands and First Nations and other Indigenous organizations with their commercial transactions. Jason presented on Joint Ventures for the 2016 Working with Partnerships Course held by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and has lectured for the Law Society of British Columbia Professional Legal Training Course. Jason is a member of the Corporate Finance Stakeholder Forum of the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) and the Securities Law, Business Law and Natural Resources Law sections of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA).
