Abhishek Singh Baghel is a Partner at the firm’s New Delhi office and is an expert in Antitrust (Competition Law – litigation, advisory, policy and compliance). He represents clients in every aspect of conduct as well as combination filing before the Competition Commission of India, Appellate Tribunal, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. He has more than 13 years of experience advising Trading houses, financial and multilateral institutions, real estate developers, investors, oil PSUs, telecom, lottery, and automobile companies. He has represented the Competition Commission of India in their cases relating to the Cement Cartel, NSE-MCX, DLF Ltd., Jet Etihad Merger, inter-regulator dispute, etc. Abhishek has considerable experience working for international clients such as Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsui and Company, Dow Chemicals, Unicharm, Coca-Cola, Vodafone, Sumitomo Chemicals, Schindler, Honda Cars etc. on competition law as well as indirect taxation front. He has also assisted in M&A transactions from the Competition Law perspective including combination filings, seeking approval from the Competition Commission of India and advisory since the notification of Combination Regulations in 2011. Abhishek regularly writes and speaks on topics relating to Antitrust advocacy, implementation of antitrust reforms, and judgments on competition law jurisprudence. His latest work includes Competition Law compliance, policy-making, and advisory on emerging topics such as Resale Price Maintenance, the applicability of combination regulations on joint ventures, and the Green Channel Mechanism.
