Charles Mills focuses his practice on environmental and land use law, representing individuals, businesses and lenders on matters such as: handling, treatment and disposal of hazardous substances, hazardous wastes and petroleum products; wetland, dock and marina permitting; due diligence review of real estate transactions; regulatory compliance; mine development, permitting and leasing of mineral interests; assessment and remediation of contaminated properties; redevelopment of brownfield sites; and environmental enforcement issues. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Mills spent four years as an environmental consultant specializing in assessment, remediation and human health risk analysis at CERCLA, RCRA and state-regulated sites throughout the eastern and southeastern United States and Gulf Coast. Mr. Mills assists clients in alcohol licensing matters before the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco including resort, hotel and restaurant licensing, regulatory compliance and permitting of breweries and distilleries.
