Bio

Joseph G. Mason is a managing partner with the law firm of Dodd Mason George LLP. He specializes in corporate and securities law, banking and commercial transactions for public and privately held companies, both domestic and international, including technology start-ups. He also advises on a broad range of regulatory matters, as many of his clients are banks and bank holding companies and other financial institutions, subject to regulation by government agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, the California Department of Business Oversight and its Division of Corporations and Division of Financial Institutions, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Joe was formerly a partner with Coudert Brothers LLP (1997-2002), a partner with Bronson, Bronson & McKinnon LLP (1992-1997) and a shareholder (partner) in Rosenblum, Parish & Bacigalupi Professional Corporation (1981-1992). Prior to entering the private practice of law, Joe was Senior Counsel in the Legal Department of Bank of America National Trust and Savings Association (1969-1981). He started legal department offices in Tokyo (1975) and in Hong Kong (1978) and had wide involvement in the support of commercial banking branches, affiliated merchant banking, finance and leasing companies and related administrative units throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Joe represents individuals and companies in a variety of public and private debt and equity financings, loan and lease transactions, venture capital and project financing, mergers and acquisitions, international trade finance, licensing and distribution agreements, joint ventures and various executive compensation arrangements.
