Highly experienced barrister, Bernard is involved in restructuring and reorganization files related to setting-up and realizing guarantees. He represents a varied clientele made up of businesses and public and banking institutions in a wide range of commercial and sometimes civil disputes, for which he pleads before first instance and appeal courts. Over the last 30 years, Bernard has developed considerable know-how in the field of bankruptcy and insolvency law, while also becoming involved in various restructuring and asset realization cases. Bernard has been involved in various major insolvency cases, such as that of Société Gaspésia Inc., and more recently, in the Corporation Sino-Forest case. Today, he continues to represent institutions, such as Farm Credit Canada and the Business Development Bank of Canada in various restructuring and reorganization cases. With regard to businesses, Bernard acts as strategic planning advisor and works towards solving any conflict that may arise in the course of the daily management of business.
