Pete Lawley specialises in cross-border private equity and private M&A transactions as well as joint ventures. He also advises on public M&A transactions. Many of the transactions that Pete works on are highly complex, such as carve-outs, back-to-back transactions or joint ventures with sophisticated exit arrangements. He also frequently works on transactions involving regulated financial institutions, which adds a further layer of complexity. Pete regularly advises both financial sponsors and strategic corporates. He is a key member of the firm’s Private Equity practice and Financial Institutions Group and has a particular expertise in transactions involving Japanese parties, having spent nearly ten years working and studying in Japan. Before joining De Brauw in Amsterdam, Pete spent many years advising on cross-border transactions in New York, London and Tokyo. He originally hails from Australia.
