Bio

Admitted to the Paris and New York bars, Carine Dupeyron co-heads the international arbitration practice with Professor Laurent Aynès. Before joining the firm, she practiced in Singapore, New York and Paris. Carine is also active before French courts in enforcement and annulment proceedings in connection with international awards, but not only: Carine also represents French or foreign clients in complex domestic litigation involving private or public international law questions. These cases often concern post-acquisitions and shareholders’ disputes, or the performance of major projects abroad. She has experience in proceedings governed by the rules of the major arbitration institutions, such as the ICC, LCIA, AAA-ICDR, SCC, ICSID, SIAC and in ad hoc / UNCITRAL proceedings. Carine has a recognized expertise in certain industrial sectors, in particular telecom, defense, waste management, pharmaceuticals and energy (mining and oil & gas). Carine regularly acts as chair, sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in proceedings conducted in French, English or Spanish and she is accordingly able to draft awards in each of these three languages. She also regularly sits as an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). She is a member of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC and participates in professional organizations in relation to her arbitration practice (Comité Français de l’Arbitrage, Club espanol de arbitraje, Arbitral Women, etc.). In 2019, she was selected by Who’s Who Legal among the 10 leading and most highly regarded arbitration counsel and arbitrators in Europe below 45. WWL noted that she is “definitely a star in the international arbitration space and wins praised from peers who consider her ‘highly knowledgeable on arbitration matters under French law’”. Previously, Legal 500 had underscored “her instinct and her ability to formulate persuasive and convincing arguments when pleading”. She has teaching engagements at Sciences Po Paris and Paris V-Descartes University and she regularly publishes articles on arbitration.
