Bio

Heather Travis Boone is a Partner in the Firm’s Santa Fe office. Heather practices in the areas of Real Estate, Business and Corporate law, Banking law, Construction Law and Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Zoning and Land Use law, Administrative and Regulatory law, and Homeowners’, Condominium Owners’ and Neighborhood Associations. Heather’s experience includes representing clients in navigating government financial relief programs, including eligibility requirements, compliance, and reporting obligations. Heather is also experienced in representing clients in various commercial transactions and contract negotiations; acquisition and sale transactions; real estate and land transactions; leases; construction, commercial, real estate and asset-based financing transactions; commercial loan workouts and restructuring of non-performing loans; civil litigation; and advising clients regarding compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, including securities and financial institution audits and examinations, investigations, and enforcement matters. Heather advises all types of entities in structuring corporate governing boards and committees and developing compliance policies and procedures. Heather is experienced in representing issuers in compliance with federal securities laws and drafting and reviewing disclosure documents. Prior to joining Cuddy & McCarthy, LLP, Heather served as Chief Compliance Officer and Legal and Compliance Counsel for the New Mexico Finance Authority, a quasi-governmental entity providing financing to New Mexico school districts, water systems, cities, counties and state agencies, and other entities primarily through the issuance of municipal bonds. Heather served as in-house counsel to Los Alamos National Bank (now known as Enterprise Bank & Trust) for over fourteen years, including serving as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel. Heather also has previous experience in business and commercial litigation at a large Texas law firm representing both Fortune 500 companies and small entities. Heather received her J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law in Lexington, Virginia and holds a B.A. from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Heather is admitted to practice in the courts in the State of New Mexico, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, state courts in the State of Texas, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas. Heather served on the New Mexico Bar Association Business Law Section Board of Directors from 2016 – 2018 (Chair 2018). Heather served on the Association of Corporate Counsel Corporate and Securities Law Committee (Chair October 2007 – June 2009; Advocacy Chair 2005). She also was an Executive Committee Member on the Association of Corporate Counsel Council of Committees (October 2007 – June 2009). Heather has served in various volunteer capacities for several organizations including for Quality New Mexico (Examiner, Editor and Technical Editor); Sage Cottage Montessori School (Director 2009-2016); Los Alamos Schools Continuing Improvement Team (2011-2015), Santa Fe Children’s Museum (Director 2008-2012), and Los Alamos Ski Racing Club (Volunteer 2012-present). Heather is a native of Los Alamos.
