Mr. Castelazo regularly advises a wide range of clients on complex capital markets and structured finance transactions, as well as on restructuring processes in Mexico. In recent years, Mr. Castelazo has worked on some of the most innovative financial transactions in Mexico, including the first co-investment fund established between Mexican pension funds and CDPQ, one of the largest pension funds in Canada, through the largest public offering of CKDs to date, three of the initial public offerings of investment trusts in Mexico, and one of the first debtor-in-possession financings under the Mexican insolvency statute. Notably, Mr. Castelazo has been very active in the Mexican private equity sector, advising Mexican and international sponsors in the establishment of their CKD funds in Mexico, including Riverstone, Prologis, Walton Street Capital, Finsa, Interacciones , and Planigrupo. In capital markets, Mr. Castelazo has advised issuers and underwriters on multiple global and domestic equity offerings, including working on initial public offerings and follow-ons of Ienova, FIBRA Macquarie, Terrafina, and FIBRA Prologis. In the banking and finance arena, Mr. Castelazo regularly advises global and domestic financial institutions on financings with Mexican companies or with a Mexican component. Recently, he participated in the first four unsecured revolving real estate financings in Mexico, an innovative financial product offering financing options for Mexican companies and real estate trusts. Mr. Castelazo has also represented lenders and debtors-in-possession (DIPs), which have been financial providers in some of the largest insolvencies in Mexico in recent years, including Vitro, Comercial Mexicana, and Homex. Mr. Castelazo has been recognized or named in capital markets and banking and finance law by various publications including Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and IFLR 1000. In 2014 and 2015, Mr. Castelazo was awarded the Client Choice Award for Securities and Structured Finance, and again in 2016 he was awarded the Client Choice Award for Capital Markets.
