Mr. García specializes in Antitrust with 30 years of experience in the field, actively participating in all types of transactions before competition authorities, including notifications of complex concentrations, investigations, administrative proceedings, amparo trials, as well as immunity requests. Mr. García also advises clients on foreign investment matters. Mr. García advises multinational companies and private equity investment funds on acquisitions and investments in Mexico across multiple industries, including digital platforms. Mr. García has represented our clients in some of the most sophisticated and significant transactions before competition authorities in Mexico. In particular, Mr. García recently advised AT&T on the merger of Warner Brothers with Discovery, Delta Airlines on its joint venture and investment agreement with Grupo Aeroméxico, and Cornershop on its sale to Uber, among many others. Mr. García has been recognized as Band 1, Tier 1, or equivalent in the area of antitrust by multiple publications, including Chambers & Partners, Global Competition Review, The Legal 500, Best Lawyers, and Who's Who Legal. He has also been consistently accredited as LACCA approved by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association and has been nominated as Deal Maker of the Year by Global Competition Review. Mr. García is a member of the Mexican Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He has been a frequent speaker at national and international forums related to economic competition and has written numerous articles on various topics, including the following: the chapter “Mexico: Surge in Nearshoring Indicates Promising Future for FDI Legal Framework” published by Global Competition Review in the Foreign Direct Investment Regulation Guide in 2023; the chapter “Merger Control” published by Lexology – Getting The Deal Through in 2023; the chapter “Analysis of Key Foreign Investment Jurisdictions” in the Foreign Direct Investment Regulation Guide, Second Edition, published by Global Competition Review in 2022; the chapter “Information Exchange and Related Risks” in A Jurisdictional Guide published by Concurrences in 2022; and “The Public Competition Enforcement Review” published by Law Business Research in 2021 and 2020. and “Economic Competition in Digital Markets: The Experience in Mexico” published by the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru in Themis in 2021. Mr. García was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He earned his law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City in 1993. His native language is Spanish, and he is fluent in English.
