Jane Coogan Bio

A partner with the firm, Jane Coogan is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross (B.A. 2001) and Villanova University School of Law (J.D. 2007, L.L.M. 2007). While in law school, Ms. Coogan participated in the Federal Tax Clinic, representing low income taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and in the U.S. Tax Court. She also served as a Research Assistant for Prof. Leslie Book in his writing of an American University Law Review article, “Freakonomics and the Tax Gap: An Applied Perspective.” Prior to joining Coogan Smith, Attorney Coogan worked as an associate in a New Jersey law firm, specializing in the areas of tax and estate planning. Attorney Coogan is licensed to practice in the states of Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and New Jersey, and in the United States Tax Court. She is a member of the Attleboro Area, Bristol County, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and New Jersey Bar Associations. Ms. Coogan serves on the board of Attleboro YMCA, St. John's School Principal's Advisory Board, and the Attleboro Area Industrial Museum. She also serves as a Corporator for Bristol County Savings Bank, and as a Member of the Sturdy Memorial Hospital Foundation. Ms. Coogan is also a former president of the Attleboro Area Bar Association.
